About the Artwork:

The term 'dark night of the soul' is described as a very difficult and painful period of time in someone's life. It can cause them to be disconnected from everything because of one or multiple tragic events.

This was done in the summer of 2021, when I was dealing with my grandma battling cancer after her diagnosis a few months prior. It made me question a lot in life. Where do we go in the end? What is our purpose? Why do bad things happen to good people? I lost my beliefs in certain things spirituality, I became more closed off to people, and struggled with my mental health. It was definitely a traumatizing, life changing event for me and I didn't know how to cope with it all. Expressing myself artistically was the best way I could.
